UNKNOWN “STRUCTURES”
TUGGING AT UNIVERSE STUDY SAYS — Something may be out there.
Way out there. On the outskirts of creation, unknown, unseen “structures” are
tugging on our universe like cosmic magnets, a controversial new study says.
Everything in the known universe is said to be racing toward the massive clumps
of matter at more than 2 million miles (3.2 million kilometers) an hour; a
movement the researchers have dubbed dark flow.
The presence of the extra-universal matter suggests that our universe is part of
something bigger (a multi-verse) and that whatever is out there is very
different from the universe we know, according to study leader Alexander
Kashlinsky, an astrophysicist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland.
The newfound flow cannot be explained by, and is not directly related to, the
expansion of the universe, though the researchers believe the two types of
movement are happening at the same time.
Study leader Kashlinsky agrees many questions remain unanswered. For starters:
What exactly are these things that are apparently tugging our universe?

ELECTROACUPUNCTURE RESTORES LEARNING - MEMORY LOSS
CM NEWS - Electroacupuncture demonstrated to significantly restore learning and
memory impairment induced by diabetes and cerebral ischemia.
What is cerebral ischemia? Cerebral ischemia is the decreased supply of blood to
the brain or part of the brain caused by blockage or obstruction of the
supplying blood vessels. The study was done by the Institute of Acupuncture and
Moxibustion of Beijing’s China Academy of Chinese Medical Science.
Previous investigations have demonstrated that electroacupunctural stimulation
can ameliorate primary and secondary symptoms such as peripheral neuropathy and
diabetic encephalopathy in diabetic rats.
In this study, the Chinese researchers investigated whether electroacupuncture
could improve learning and memory which was typically impaired in diabetic rats
with cerebral ischemia.
After electroacupuncture treatment, the long-term potentiation (LTP) impaired by
both diabetes and cerebral ischemia was restored significantly. These results
suggest that electroacupuncture can ameliorate learning and memory capacity
impaired by hyperglycemia and ischemia. LTP plays a very important role in this
beneficial effect.
